Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The Seth M.R. Jaipuria Alumni portal (website and Android app) is run by Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow, to help former students and teachers stay connected. Contact: alumni@jaipuria.com.

2. Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address and password or Google sign-in.
• Profile details you provide: batch year, stream, college, course, job title, company, city, country, LinkedIn link, bio and profile photo.
• Contact details: phone number (optional, kept private).
• Content you post: stories, mentorship requests, group posts, event RSVPs and connection requests.
• Donation records when you choose to give (payments are handled by our payment partner; we do not store card details).
• Basic usage data (pages visited, device type) through Google Analytics to improve the portal.
• Push notification permissions, only if you turn them on.

3. How we use it

• To verify you are a Jaipuria alumnus or former teacher before approving your account.
• To show your profile in the members-only alumni directory.
• To send account, approval, connection and event emails from alumni@jaipuria.com.
• To run mentorship, groups, events, news and donation features.

4. Who can see your information

The directory is visible only to approved, signed-in members. Your email and phone number are not shown to other members unless you connect with them. School administrators can see registration details to review accounts. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

5. Service providers

We use trusted providers to host the portal and store data, send emails (Google Workspace), process donations (Razorpay), measure usage (Google Analytics) and offer Google sign-in. They process data only to provide these services.

6. Keeping your data safe

Access to member data is restricted by account permissions and all traffic uses secure HTTPS connections. Profile photos are stored privately.

7. Your choices and account deletion

You can view and edit your profile anytime from your name in the menu. To delete your account and all associated data, email alumni@jaipuria.com from your registered email with the subject "Account deletion request". We will delete your account, profile and posts within 30 days. Donation records may be retained where required by law.

8. Children

The portal is intended for alumni and former teachers aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
